Plywood Joe is a the country folk punk project from the Acadian artist Joey Robin Haché. For the past ten years, he has created a witty character that allows him to express his desire to return to his roots, to deal with more regional and intimate subjects. The artist has created a character which allows him to explore another universe: that of the workers of the working class area where the real Joey Robin Haché comes from. The character Plywood Joe lives in a totally different reality from the artist, he uses another language and explores another music. This project values the regionalism of the Baie des Chaleurs, and wants to unite the world around songs drawn from a simple daily life, reflecting the reality of northern New Brunswick in a way that is not sarcastic or satirical, but rather full of compassion and empathy for the normal life of the average person.
