Atlantic Presenters Association Hiring Summer Student

About Contact East

The flagship event of the APA, Contact East brings together the artists in theatre, music, and dance, to showcase their work to regional, national and international delegates. The conference takes place September 26th – 29th in Charlottetown, PEI. Contact East involves formal performance showcases; the Contact Room where the business of booking takes place; and a variety of workshops, clinics and round table discussions, which are relevant to the industry's affairs.

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Manage online registration for showcasing artists and delegates, including processing registration payments.

•Act as artist liaison, address inquiries over email and phone;

•Compile and distribute Artist package containing important conference information and deadlines.

•Devise a conference communications plan using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Email, Conference website and MailChimp. This plan is inclusive of social media postings, eNewsletters. eBlasts and overall upkeep of conference website. Communications plan will include multiple audiences: APA members, Showcasing Artists, Funders and Stakeholders, Conference delegates.

•Work with event management team to coordinate international delegate travel & accommodations.

•Source and coordinate delegate bag materials.

•Work closely with APA's Event Management team on planning of delegate excursions and other activities.

•Collect materials for the delegate handbook including dignitary messages, artist information and workshop descriptions.

•Work in collaboration with the Sponsorship Coordinator. Manage sponsorship opportunities with APA members, collect sponsorship logos for delegate handbook, manage sponsorship fulfillment (logos, print sponsorship signs.

•Compile showcasing list of technical riders for conference Technical Director and Stage Manager.

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the CSJ initiative, individuals must:

•Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;

•Have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;

•Intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;

•Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;

•Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
