APA is Hiring

Position: Event Assistant, Contact East

Application Deadline: Friday, June 1, 2018

Start Date: Monday, June 18th, 2018

Wage: $11.55 per hour, 35 hrs per week

About Contact East

The flagship event of the APA, Contact East brings together the very best of talent in theatre, music, and dance, to showcase their work for regional, national and international presenter delegates. The conference will take place September 20th – 23rd in St. John’s, NL. Contact East involves formal showcase events in music, dance and theatre; the Contact Room where artists, agents and presenters can interact to discuss availability, venues and other performing arts issues; and a variety of workshops, clinics and round table discussions, which are relevant to the industry's affairs.

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with online conference registration for artists and delegates

• Assist as artist liaison addressing inquiries over email and phone

• Assist with overall communications plan including press releases, social media, website etc.

• Manage content for delegate handbook and liaise with graphic designer

• Populate and manage conference app

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the CSJ initiative, individuals must:

• Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;

• Have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;

• Intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;

• Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;

• Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
