Buffy Sainte-Marie Begins Atlantic Canadian Tour

October 27, 2017 | Buffy Sainte-Marie, one of Canada’s most celebrated artists and activists, is coming to Atlantic Canada for a string of performances and speaking engagements in several smaller communities as part of the Atlantic Presenters Association (APA)’s Canada 150 Performance Series.

The acclaimed Oscar, JUNO, and Polaris Prize-winning artist has six performances and one speaking engagement in a handful of Eastern Canadian communities as part of the tour. In concert, she’ll be performing songs spanning her vast catalog, including selections from her upcoming album, Medicine Songs, set to release November 10.

“Buffy Sainte-Marie has rightfully earned the distinction of being one of Canada’s most exciting and in-demand performers,” comments Laurie Gillis, APA’s Executive Director. “We’re thrilled to have her and her band taking part in our Canada 150 Performance Series, bringing a spectacular show to some of our lesser-served markets and venues. This will surely be a highlight of our programming this year and we’re very proud to be sharing it with several of our communities.”

The Canada 150 Performance Series, presented in partnership with RADARTS, began in April 2017 and runs through to March 31st, 2018, featuring multi-disciplinary artists from the six Canadian regions – Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, the Prairies, British Columbia, and Northern Canada – in celebration of Canada and its diverse cultures and communities. Other performers with upcoming dates include Susan Aglukark, Breabach, and Old Man Luedecke, and Dave Gunning & James Keeleghan.
